Dufour was founded in 1964 in La Rochelle by Michel Dufour, an engineer, a pioneer of the polyester sailing yacht in France with the Arpège. After several changes of ownership, the yard was taken over by Fountaine Pajot in 2018.
The range covers 9 to 18 m, from the Dufour 32 to the 61, with Umberto Felci designs, wide cockpits and bright layouts. Production is industrial, in Périgny.
Strengths: a competitive price, improving finish since the Fountaine Pajot takeover, and fluid resale.
