Apreamare

Modern gozzi and Maestro yachts from 9 to 30 m, heir to the Sorrento tradition.

Apreamare descends from a family of Sorrento gozzo builders, active since 1849. Cataldo Aprea modernised the gozzo, the Neapolitan fishing boat, in the 1990s and turned it into a recognised pleasure craft. The yard is in Torre Annunziata, near Naples.

The range covers 9 to 30 m: the Gozzo 35 to 45 in modern form, the Maestro 51 to 100, cruising yachts with a traditional hull and contemporary interiors. The style remains recognisable, with a high bow and rounded transom.

Before you sign: an Apreamare is a boat with character, comfortable in a rough sea, that appeals to a loyal clientele. Prices are those of semi-artisanal construction. Resale is good on the Amalfi coast and in the Mediterranean, slower elsewhere.
