Overview

Designed by Illingworth & Primrose and launched in 1965 at the Navaltecnica yard in Anzio, Hermitage belongs to the generation of yachts that shaped modern offshore racing. A wooden hull, two masts, an unbroken teak deck: this is the silhouette of an era when speed was found in length and balance rather than installed power.

Based in Saint-Tropez, she sails by the day with her crew. The programme reads straight off the chart: Pampelonne, Cap Camarat, Cap Taillat and the coves of the Var coastline.

Two formats. A full day at sea for up to twelve guests, following the Tropezian shoreline and anchoring wherever the light is best. The Sunset Experience, three hours at the close of the day, when Saint-Tropez grows quiet: drinks at anchor and sunset offshore. Professional skipper and hostess aboard in both cases.

Nothing aboard has been standardised. The mahogany saloon and its skylights, the wooden helm and the sunpads on deck make up a setting no contemporary yacht reproduces.

Why this one

1

A designer's signature, not merely an old boat

Illingworth and Primrose drew the yachts that founded modern offshore racing. Hermitage came off that drawing board in 1965, built in wood at the Navaltecnica yard in Anzio. A classic whose origin can be documented, unlike many boats offered under that label.

2

The gulf of Saint-Tropez straight off the quay

Pampelonne, Cap Camarat, Cap Taillat and the coves of the Var coastline: from Saint-Tropez the finest anchorages are reached within the day, with no wasted transit.

3

Crew aboard, nothing to arrange

A professional skipper and a hostess welcome you aboard and take care of the navigation, the handling and the service. No licence, no logistics.
