Silent-Yachts was founded in 2009 by Michael and Heike Köhler, after years of sea trials, with a single programme: the fully electric power catamaran powered by solar panels on the roof. Headquarters are in Austria, construction in Italy and Thailand.
The range covers 18 to 37 m: Silent 60, 62, 80 and 120, with solar panels, batteries and electric motors that allow cruising without noise or fuel at moderate speed, and a generator as backup.
Strengths: the pioneer of the solar catamaran, silent and autonomous cruising, and a recognised technological lead in electric yachting.
